Induction Burner + Cutting Board + Computer = Laptop Kitchen?

This clever combo of three kitchen elements makes a convenient and efficient cooking system for geeks everywhere. The Electrolux Mobile Kitchen Concept hosts a 4-tier induction element, sleek cutting board and touch-screen computer makes cooking a breeze. This futuristic kitchen is marketed as an easy and portable kitchen solution, but is it practical?
Induction cooking has gained popularity in the kitchen, no doubt because of it’s sleek design and highly-efficient heating capabilities. The thin design and technological components easily fit into this mobile kitchen concept. And because induction burners only heat up when in contact with metallic surfaces, your geek kitchen is probably safe from a massive melt down.
The versatile cutting board doubles as a burner cover when you just want to use the computer or need a hard surface. The board can be removed for cutting juicier substances and easy clean up. It even features a mini slide-out grater.

The touch-screen computer is marketed as an excellent host for interactive recipes. The computer features wi-fi, bluetooth and even a webcam in case you want to watch tutorials or video chat with friends while you cook.

As snazzy and tech-savvy as this concept kitchen sounds, we can’t help but wonder how it would stand up to real life application. You might acquire a cover to protect the computer from grease and food splatter but wouldn’t that take away from the touch-screen computer capability? As for mobility, what kind of battery would this require and how long would it last if you were to use it while camping in the wilderness? (Where there isn’t likely to be a wifi, let alone phone signal, anyway). Then again, this could be an excellent dorm accessory for your nerdy nephew – if he doesn’t cook anything greasy.
