Cabinet FAQ’s
How long do I have to wait for my cabinets after ordering them?
Factory made cabinets usually have a four week lead time for stains, six week lead time for other finishes and certain specialty items and eight week lead time for inset cabinetry. However, this may vary depending on the manufacturer and the room design.
What are factory made cabinets?
Factory made cabinets are a semi-custom type of cabinetry. They are built to order in different sizes, styles, colors and accessories. Factory made cabinets use the best construction methods, materials and finishes available and often come with a lifetime warranty. Can factory made cabinets be painted with a custom color?
Yes. Mid Continent and Starmark offer a complete line of cabinets that can be painted with any custom color. Simply choose a color from any paint manufacturer and we will create a sample for you to approve.
What are frameless cabinets?
Frameless, or European-style cabinets, have no face frame. The doors are attached directly to the sides of the cabinet. Frameless cabinets, which are more contemporary in style, offer the advantage of completely unobstructed access to the cabinet interior because there is no face frame. Frameless construction utilizes pin and dowel construction.
What are framed Cabinets?
The traditional framed cabinet has a face frame around the cabinet opening to which the door is attached. These are the most popular type of cabinets in the U.S. and are easier to install than frameless cabinetry because of their recessed end panels and rigid face frame. Framed cabinets are available in Traditional and Full Overlay styling which are explained below. Framed cabinet construction utilizes glue, staple and dowel or screw construction.
Will my cabinets come with a warranty?
All the cabinet brands we represent come with a limited lifetime warranty. Warranties vary by manufacturer, ask your FBS cabinet design specialist for details.
