Factory Builder Stores is proud to contribute to community projects including The SANDE Youth Project in Austin TX, motivating young people toward productive futures in the culinary arts.
Recently Factory Builder Stores-Austin lent expertise in kitchen design to the program creating design renderings for the new kitchen at Limerick-Frazier House, a home built in 1876 which is soon to be home to The SANDE Youth Project.
“If you ask famous chefs what inspired them toward culinary careers, they will tell you that their love of food and passion for cooking developed at a young age, usually in Mother’s kitchen. As a rite of passage project, SANDE students join a culinary family when they learn to cook with culinary role models at the Limerick-Frazier House.” (TONI TIPTON-MARTIN, The Austin Chronicle 1/15/10)
In the recent MLK Day celebration ServeaDream Dream Pie Social the plans for the renovations where unveiled.
A letter from Toni Tipton-Martin, Founder, The SANDE Youth Project to Factory Builder Stores
On behalf of the future students of The SANDE Youth Project, I want to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the time and effort you devoted to our first annual Dream Pie Social fundraiser, Pie4All.
Because of your generosity and the beautiful architectural rendering you provided of our kitchens, we were able to achieve our goal of helping to build Dr. King’s “beloved community” while raising awareness about the value of food traditions and culinary careers.] [We truly appreciate that you shared your resources with those who are less fortunate. To further express our gratitude, this organization will do all it can to promote Factory Builder Stores every chance we get.
Thank you again, Toni Tipton-Martin Founder, The SANDE Youth Project
