KBIS 2019 was all about design and boy, was I impressed! This was their first year back in Las Vegas after 2 years in Orlando and our manufactures came back to the Entertainment Capital of the World with a BANG! In this blog I’ll go over the exciting new things to keep an eye out for in 2019.
GE APPLIANCES
GE & Haier went huge this year with a monster display space- triple the size of what they have done in the past. Monogram pushed their focus on a new minimal line coming out at the end of 2019 that will bring a contemporary glass finish to your kitchen.
These new Monogram ovens are push to open, with dual convection and steam assist. The LCD touch screen display is brighter and easier to navigate. The logo was changed from a badge on the unit to an engraved etching, giving the products a sleeker look.

Café is going in a completely new direction and is focusing on the design of a kitchen. Café wants you to add your personal style to your kitchen with their matte white, matte black and stainless appliances. You can also select the hardware finish perfect for you, ranging from: brushed copper, brushed bronze, brushed black and brushed stainless.
Café’s minimal collection will also be coming this fall with a mirrored glass exterior.
DACOR
Dacor’s Modernist 36” All Gas Range is a beautiful pro style range that can save you a few bucks. Its dual 3-Part Pure Convection oven precisely distributes heat and can hold temperatures within 5˚F of your set point. This range is the first product to be integrated to the Smart Things platform and has Bluetooth Auto-Connect that automatically turns your hood on and off as you cook on the surface.

FRIGIDAIRE
Frigidaire Gallery will be launching a new range this summer with Air Fry technology. This new 30” range will be available in gas, electric and induction models. The Air Fry feature on the range heats up the air inside the oven to a higher temperature than what you’d use with convection. It then gradually cools down as the fan circulates air around the cavity rapidly. There will be an available accessory basket to assist the frying process.

MIELE
Miele featured their wall ovens with the industry’s first wireless meat probe. The probe provides correct-to-the-minute information on how long a program still has to run. It’s also extremely safe to use and can be stored inside the frame of your oven when not being used.

THERMADOR
Thermador’s built-in coffee system is now plumbed and can drain on its own. This is really exciting news for coffee drinkers because there is less maintenance required and they’ll have quicker access to their morning joe. The new coffee maker is also the first built-in unit that can drain on its own in the market.
Thermador is also introducing their new blue knobs in 2019.

ZEOLITE DRYING
Select Bosch & Thermador dishwashers have a new patented technology of drying in their dishwashers. In Bosch dishwashers it’s called CrystalDry and in Thermador Dishwasher’s it’s called StarDry. The easiest way I can explain this technology is that inside the dishwasher there are certain minerals that absorb moisture and releases enough heat to boil water and dry your dishwasher contents when your drying cycle starts in your dishwasher.
COLORS
Bringing more color into the kitchen was a main trend from the show. As mentioned before, the GE Café line has their new matte colors and different hardware finishes that you can select from, but they are not the only manufacturer with color options.
Dacor has a new program called DacorMatch, which is a color system that allows you to personalize your appliance with any color imaginable. You simply provide your desired color swatch and Dacor will match it exactly, ensuring your appliances fit seamlessly into your design. They also have a selection of hardware colors you can pick from to go with your perfect color.
True Refrigeration has 8 different colors you can select from to make your refrigeration stand out, the color that really caught my eye was their new Emerald green. They also have 6 hardware colors that you can select from.

Miele’s graphite grey and brilliant white colors were gorgeous, sleek color options for someone looking for a European look.

OTHER DESIGN PERSPECTIVES
Throughout the show we noticed floating shelves were not as popular anymore and the look was going more in the direction of metal shelves or boxes.
Colored metals were incorporated in to the entire kitchen and bathroom design, not just in appliance hardware. Popular colors are brushed nickel, rose gold, graphite, gold, copper and brushed gold.
Lighting is everywhere and when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere. Lighting is being put into mirrors, on the upper and lower areas of your cabinets, behind cabinet handles, inside your cabinet doors and drawers and so much more.

2019 is going to be a great year and with the different products and designs above and we’re looking forward to bringing the latest styles to our customers. If you have any questions or would like to see one of these 2019 products, please reach out to one of our knowledgeable sales representatives.
